When my grandchildren turn eight, it is my goal to take them to Disneyland! Logan turned 8 in March - and so during April we took our much anticipated trip to Disneyland - just Grandma and Logan.
Well it turned out that Matt and Kim
would be taking a trip at the same time too - so we had double the fun. Taylor and Logan were best buddies - and loved seeing Disneyland together. Actually Logan LOVED having Uncle Matt
there too - they spent some bonding time together - riding the
scarey rides :) Logan was such a great little companion for Grandma -
I think we went on California Screamin 5 times together (almost too much for Grandma - but I made it!) Logan also loved helping out with Jackson - his little cousin. Logan's favorite ride - besides California Screamin - was the water ride across from Brother Bear. Grandma went on it
once - but Logan went on it twice by himself and loved getting
soaking wet (not grandma's favorite
thing to do! We enjoyed eating, sleeping and dreaming of Disneyland for 3 days! I wish we could do it again - he is growing up way too fast. Most of all Grandma is just thankful to have Logan in

our family - he is kind and funny - and smart - and such a joy to have as a grandson...I love you,

TODAY'S BIKE RIDE....
I sure had a lot of fun on our bike ride today. We met near the bikepaths in South Scottsdale and rode bikes - roller bladed (Nat and Kim) - for about 4 miles up to Indian School Road and back. It just so happened to be Matt's birthday so Kim prepared some treats for our "rest stop" where the kids loved digging in the sand and throwing rocks in the little stream?? We had only a couple of mishaps....Kim got blisters from her socks being too short for her roller blades (a couple of flesh wounds as she called them) and Nat found out too late that Talon is allergic to sun screen. His poor little face and eyes were so sad and burning. It was the most beautiful day ever - a cool 72 degrees, a little breeze and nice and sunny. It was quite the train - Lori had Beau on her bike in the back and Beau was loving it. Joshua and Emma rode their bikes and mostly lead the pack. Logan wore his roller blades for about half the ride and then rode Mason's bike the other half. Brockie and Mason rode for about half the time - then we did a switch and put Mason and Brock in the back of Uncle Matt's and Uncle Brian's bikes. Wendi and Brian brought their cool "beach cruisers" and Wendi rode most of the way with Hudson in the Bjorn and Brian pulled Jackie in a trailer in the back - he seemed to love it too. At any rate we had a great time. We're hoping to make this an annual event - hoping that next year it won't be on Stake Conference weekend for Chad and Michelle so they can come. Thanks to Nat for planning the "party" - and Happy Birthday (32) to Matt!!
